News

Carshalton Camera Club: To mark recently moving their meetings to Carshalton Methodist Church in the London Borough of Sutton, Carshalton Camera Club has been running a Snapshot Competition. This has been open to all members of the church and church hall users (except our camera club members of course!) and entries were received throughout the summer and early autumn of 2007 – a total of almost 100 photos were entered and judged by Carshalton Camera Club members.

First prize of a pair of cinema tickets, courtesy of Empire Cinemas in Sutton, plus a framed enlargement of their picture, and the new BBC book “Coast, From the Air”, went to Sue Forty for her picture “Determined T-Ball Player”, showing her cousin’s grandson during a visit to Ontario

For a view of the winners and some of the other pictures entered, and more information about the club go to Carshalton Camera Club’s web site

Sutton Camera Club: At the club's AGM on Thursday 15th November 2007 it was agreed that due to a declining membership and the non viability of the Club, Sutton Camera Club will cease to function. The club's last meeting will be the Annual Awards Night to be held on Thursday 6th December 2007.

The club wishes thank all the judges and speakers who have passed on their knowledge to members and provided us with such an interesting and varied programme throughout the years and a big thank you to all members, past and present, who have contributed such a lot to the club throughout its history.
